MADISON, N.J. – Twenty-three student-athletes have been honored for their performances on the baseball diamond in the second season of Landmark Conference competition as they earned spots on the 2009 All-Landmark Conference Baseball Team as voted by the conference’s seven head coaches. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team with the voting done by position. The voting also took place prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.

The Catholic University of America, which claimed its second Landmark Championship in as many seasons, led the way with six selections to the team, including five first-team honorees. Susquehanna University had five athletes on the team, including senior John Lunardi who was a first-team selection at two positions and was also voted as both the Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year for the conference. Moravian College freshman Kevin O’Keefe was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year to go along with his first-team selection. And United States Merchant Marine Academy Head Coach Michael Notebaert and his assistants were voted as the Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Mariners to an 11-victory turnaround in 2009.
