Landmark Announces Softball All-Conference Team

MADISON, N.J. – Following the conclusion of another successful season of Landmark Conference softball 25 student-athletes have been selected to the 2009 All-Landmark Conference Softball Team as voted by the conference’s seven head coaches. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team, with the voting done by position. The voting took place prior to the start of the Landmark softball postseason.

Moravian College, which won the regular season and postseason Landmark titles, led the way with eight athletes honored, including two who were picked at multiple positions. The Greyhounds also saw freshman pitcher Jenna Carmon recognized as the Pitcher of the Year. United States Merchant Marine Academy first baseman Jesselyn LaValley was picked as the Landmark Player of the Year, while The Catholic University of America freshman Megan Rizzi earned Rookie of the Year honors. Susquehanna University, led by Head Coach Kathy Kroupa, was chosen as the Coaching Staff of the Year after the Crusaders finished second in the regular season standings and reached the Landmark Championship game.
