Landmark Honors Men's Tennis All-Conference Team
MADISON, N.J. – Following one of the most competitive
seasons in the three-year history of the Landmark Conference 18
student-athletes have been selected to the 2010 All-Landmark
Conference Men's Tennis Team as selected by the conference's eight
head coaches. The team consists of a first and second team, with
six singles players and three doubles pairings per team, and the
voting took place prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.
The University of Scranton and Drew University, the two teams
that competed in the Landmark Men's Tennis Championship, led the
selections with five and four honorees respectively and with a pair
of first-team singles selections. Drew also claimed two of the
three first-team doubles honors, and Head Coach Jeff Brandes and
his staff were voted Coaching Staff of the Year after the Rangers
went unbeaten in Landmark play for the third-straight year.
Newcomer Daniel Valverde of The Catholic University of America
swept the remaining two awards as he was voted both the Player of
the Year and Rookie of the Year.
