Men's Soccer All-Conference Team Announced

MADISON, N.J. – The Landmark Conference has honored twenty-four student-athletes with selections to the to the 2011 All-Landmark Conference Men's Soccer team as voted by the conference's eight head coaches. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team with 12 honorees on each team, with the selections being made by position. The voting for the All-Conference Team took place after the conclusion of the regular season and prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.

Susquehanna sophomore midfielder Andrew Murphy was mistakenly left off the original All-Conference release, and as a result the All-Conference second-team now includes 13 student-athletes. The Catholic University of America and the United States Merchant Marine Academy, the two teams that will square off in Saturday's Landmark Championship, each placed six players on the All-Conference squad. The teams also earned other significant honors with Catholic forward Michael Brennan being named Offensive Player of the Year and the Cardinals coaching staff led by Head Coach Travis Beauchamp earning Coaching Staff of the Year. USMMA defender Kurt Olsen was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season. Forwards Ricardo Castro of Drew was picked as Rookie of the Year. Seniors make up only six of the 25 selections, with 11 of the All-Conference honors going to underclassmen.
