TOWSON, Md. – At the end of the regular season, the women's tennis coaches selected Goucher sophomore Ariel Lin as the Landmark Conference Player of the Year. Scranton freshman Emily Walsh was named Rookie of the Year.

In just her second season at Goucher, Lin racked up a 12-2 singles record during the regular season on the way to earning top honors. She was named Rookie of the Year last season and helped lead the Gophers to earn the No. 1 seed in the Landmark tournament this year. Lin dropped two singles matches in March and then went on an 11-match winning streak. She partnered with Meaghan Lee in doubles competition and lost just three matches all year.

Walsh competed at No. 3 and No. 4 singles in conference play and finished spotless at 6-0. Overall, the freshman was 8-5 in singles and 7-7 in doubles during the regular season. Walsh added two wins at No. 4 singles during the Landmark tournament on the way to helping the Royals win their second consecutive title.

The All-Landmark First Team features six singles players and three doubles teams. Joining Lin on the First Team for singles is Lee. This is the second time Lee has earned First Team honors. She went 9-4 at No. 2 singles this year with a 5-1 record in conference play. Catholic's No. 1 player, Marge Selinger, also earned First Team recognition for the second time in her career. She went 8-6 overall and 4-2 in the Landmark this season. Moravian junior Melissa Follett has also earned First Team honors. She was 7-2 at No. 1 singles and 5-1 in the conference.

Scranton's Devon Cohen and Drew's Chelsea Lipp round out the All-Landmark First Team. Both players were second team selections a year ago. Cohen competed primarily at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and finished 4-2 in the Landmark. She helped the Royals to the Landmark Championship on Saturday. Lipp is a senior at Drew and played to a 4-2 record in the conference this season.

The three doubles teams named to the First Team represent three different institutions. Follett and Moravian teammate Erica Venuti teamed up at No. 1 doubles and earned a 7-2 record with the only two losses coming in conference play. Goucher's Lee and Lin were 12-3 overall at No. 1 and also finished 4-2 in the conference. Juniata's Megan Phillips and Heather Waring also earned First Team honors. The duo finished 12-6 during the regular season and 5-1 in the conference with their only loss coming to Lee and Lin.

Goucher head coach Sally Baum was voted the Landmark Conference Coach of the Year for the third time in her career. The Gophers went from fifth to first in the Landmark standings over the course of a year. Last season, Goucher went 2-4 in conference play, but finished 5-1 this season to earn the No. 1 seed.
