All-Landmark Softball Teams Announced

TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna University sophomore Brianna Murphy is the Landmark Conference softball coaches' pick as Player of the Year while Moravian's Alyssa Fegely and Susquehanna's Morgan Lewis share Pitcher of the Year honors. Susquehanna's Ashley Cole was voted Rookie of the Year.

Murphy led the Crusaders at the plate during the regular season hitting .391 in 35 games. She was even stronger against Landmark Conference competition, hitting .519 with a .778 slugging percentage. The outfielder finished with 43 putouts and an assist with only one error this season. Murphy was also named to the All-Landmark First Team for the first time in her career.

A Second Team selection last year, Fegely made 18 appearances in the circle for Moravian during the regular season. She racked up an 11-2 record in 15 starts with 11 complete games. Fegely pitched 80.2 innings and accumulated 73 strikeouts with a 1.74 earned run average. Lewis earned a 9-2 record in the circle for the Crusaders with 17 appearances and seven complete games through the regular season. She finished with 69 strikeouts and a 2.50 earned run average. Lewis earned Landmark wins over Drew, Moravian and Scranton as Susquehanna clinched the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

Cole led the league in earned run average at 1.43 overall in the regular season and 0.75 in conference games during her rookie campaign. She went 12-2 in the circle with 99 strikeouts to average a strikeout per inning while only walking nine batters in 21 appearances.

The All-Landmark First Team includes 13 players including Murphy, Fegely, Lewis and Cole. Six players from Moravian were named to the First Team to lead the Landmark. Greyhound catcher Cassie Ernst hit .371 this season with 43 RBI to earn All-Conference honors for the third time in her career. First baseman Amanda Dizinno is a three-time First Team selection and went .326 at the plate with 20 RBI while designated player and two-time first teamer, Jenn Dalickas, led the team with a .458 batting average. She also added 35 RBI and a team-high four homeruns. Moravian took two of the three outfield spots on the First Team with Dior George and Miranda Sergas repeating as First Team honorees from a year ago. Both players contributed 20 RBI during the regular season. Dior hit .401 while Sergas was .393 at the plate.

Joining teammates Cole, Lewis and Murphy on First Team, Susquehanna third baseman Alyssa Cantalini was voted a First Team honoree after earning Second Team recognition a year ago. Cantalini was second on the team during the regular season with a .366 batting average and paced the Crusaders with 28 RBI.

Drew second baseman Lexie Forsell hit .325 this season with 25 RBI to earn First Team honors for the second consecutive year. Shortstop Jeramie Barletta joined Forsell on the First Team after leading the Rangers this season with a .404 batting average.

Rounding out the First Team is utility player Catilin McHenry from the University of Scranton. McHenry finished the regular season with a .318 batting average and 19 RBI while playing at least one game at shortstop, third base, outfield and designated player.

Susquehanna head coach Kathy Kroupa and her staff were voted Coaching Staff of the Year for the fourth time in her career. The Crusaders earned the No. 1 seed for the second consecutive year and currently boast a 37-7 record. In the most recent National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll, the team was ranked No. 21 in NCAA Division III.
