Bryce Carson Chosen as Landmark Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has chosen eight athletes as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective spring sports. A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors selected the recipients, choosing one senior from each of the spring sports sponsored by the conference.

The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in athletics and academics. The conference office will announce the eight honorees over the next two weeks.

Goucher College's Bryce Carson has been named the Men's Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete. Carson recently wrapped up his career with Gophers having played in every game over the last four years. A defenseman, Carson had 36 caused turnovers and 60 ground balls this season. He finished his career with 99 caused turnovers to rank third all-time at Goucher.

A Second Team All-Landmark selection as a junior, Carson earned First Team honors this spring. He helped the team go undefeated in Landmark play to earn the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. The Gophers won two Landmark Championships during Carson's four-year career. 

Carson is a two-year team captain at Goucher. Additionally, he spent the last two years serving on the Goucher Leadership Council. He also spent two years on the Academic Honor Board.

Originally from Wyomissing, Pa., Carson is a business management major with a minor in historic preservation. He has earned a 3.70 cumulative grade point average and been recognized on the Landmark Honor Roll all three years he has been eligible. Carson is also a two-time Landmark All-Academic Team member and Goucher Scholar Athlete award recipient.
