WASHINGTON – The Landmark Men's Soccer Championship wrapped up on Saturday with its third game, but none of the games finished with a winner. All three games were tied after 110 minutes of play and went to penalty kicks. On Saturday, Catholic won the 2014 Landmark title after advancing on penalty kicks for the second time in three days.

The Cardinals struck first with a goal in the 35th minute. Catholic had two corner kicks back-to-back and the ball bobbled around after the first one, but Josh Barrett made sure to finish the second one. Barrett scored on the header off of Tyler Zimmerman's corner for the 1-0 lead.

Catholic held the 1-0 lead at halftime, but Merchant Marine scored the equalizer in the 60th minute. Kyle Arestivo scored on the assist from Tim Hughes and Gavin Yingling. There were few chances for either team to go ahead through the final 30 minutes and both teams had just one shot apiece in both overtimes.

The Cardinals substituted Cam McGrory in goal for penalty kicks and McGory made the save to set the tone for Catholic. McGrory finished penalty kicks with two saves while Catholic went 4-for-4 to secure the win.

Catholic earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and McGrory was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
