Kirsten Schall Named Landmark Women’s Soccer Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next two weeks.

Moravian College's Kirsten Schall has been named the Women's Soccer Senior Scholar Athlete. Schall is the 15th Senior Scholar Athlete at Moravian, but the first in women's soccer. She recently earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Third Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors after being named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in three seasons. Schall was also selected to the Landmark All-Conference First Team this season. She is a four-time All-Landmark honoree with First Team selections this fall and in 2012 and Second Team spots in 2011 and 2013.

Schall led the Landmark this season with 16 goals and one assist for 33 points, and she netted five game-winning goals. She completed her career third in Moravian history in both goals with 35 and points with 88, and Schall is fourth in the Moravian record books with 18 career assists.

In the classroom, Schall has earned a 3.50 cumulative grade point average while majoring in psychology. Originally from Tinton Falls, N.J., she is a three-time member of the Landmark Academic Honor Roll and she was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District IV Soccer Team. She serves as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative and volunteers at an early intervention school for children with disabilities. Schall is a member of Psi Chi, a psychology honor society, Moco for Coco, a pediatric cancer awareness organization, and the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority.
