Dan Gresh Named Landmark Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next two weeks.

Elizabethtown College's Dan Gresh has been named the Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete. In the first year of full membership in the Landmark, Gresh is the first Blue Jay Senior Scholar Athlete.

Last month he won the Landmark Championship helping Elizabethtown to claim its first Landmark title. Gresh was named the Landmark Performer of the Year and finished as a member of the All-Landmark First Team. He qualified for the NCAA Championship race after placing 18th at the Mideast Region Championship and earning All-Region honors.

Prior to joining the Landmark, Elizabethtown was a member of the Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) where Gresh was a two-time All-Conference selection. The Blue Jays also won MAC Championships in 2011 and 2012.

Academically, Gresh has earned a 3.73 cumulative grade point average while majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in mathematics. Originally from Sewell, N.J., he is a three-time Academic Honor Roll selection between the MAC and the Landmark. He will also be recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as an All-Academic honoree.
