Colby Brindle Named Landmark Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the six winter honorees will be announced this week.

Susquehanna University's Colby Brindle has been named the Men's Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete. A four-year member of the team, Brindle has made significant improvements each season. He set a new personal best in the 3000 meters this season at 9:34.03, nearly 39 seconds faster than his best time as a freshman. He went on to finish 14th in the 3000 at the Landmark Championships and helped the Crusaders to a runner-up finish at the meet.  Brindle is also a member of the cross country and outdoor track & field teams.

In the classroom, Brindle has earned a 3.96 cumulative grade point average while double majoring in business administration (finance) and economics. He has been named to the Landmark Winter Honor Roll three times and was named a University Scholar. Brindle is also a party of four different honor societies including Omicron Delta Epsilon for economics and Beta Gamma Sigma for business.

Brindle is a member of the Phi Mu Delta fraternity and previously served as Vice President of Finance. He has also worked and volunteered at a local ski resort as a member of the National Ski Patrol. Brindle serves as a tutor for corporate finance and works as a coach for business perspectives, two business courses at Susquehanna. During the summer of 2012, he completed an internship at Northwestern Mutual and has secured a job at The Vanguard Group following graduation.
