Katrina Woods Named Landmark Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the six winter honorees will be announced this week.

Juniata College's Katrina Woods has been named the Women's Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete. The distance runner has racked up All-Landmark honors every year after taking home three individual championships and two runner-up finishes at the Landmark Championships. Woods capped off her Landmark career with wins in the 3000 and 5000 meters and a third place finish in the mile. She holds the Landmark record in the 3000 meters at 10:19.78.

A three-sport student-athlete at Juniata, Woods also competes in cross country and outdoor track & field. She is the reigning Landmark Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year and will wrap up her career on the track this spring.

Woods is originally from Shirleysburg, Pa. She boasts a 3.58 grade point average while majoring in wildlife conservation. She is also a three-time Landmark Winter Honor Roll selection.
