Lydia Dearie Named Landmark Women’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next two weeks.
Elizabethtown College's Lydia Dearie has been named the Landmark's Women's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete. Dearie has seen great success both on and off the course. She was the 2015 Landmark Conference Individual Champion and led the Blue Jays to their second consecutive conference title. She was All-Mideast Region for the second straight year after placing 25th at Big Spring and helping E-town earn an at-large berth to NCAAs where she competed for the second straight season.
Dearie is also an exceptional student with a 3.95 cumulative GPA as a business administration major at the college. The Sykesville, Md. Native is a two-time Landmark Conference Honor Roll selection and was named USTFCCCA All-Academic in 2014 and is expected to replicate that in 2015.
