Zach Trama Named Landmark Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next two weeks.
Elizabethtown College’s Zach Trama has been named the Men’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete. This marks the second year in a row a Blue Jay has been named a Senior Scholar Athlete as Dan Gresh was the recipient in 2014.
Trama won his first individual conference title at the 2015 Landmark Conference Championships which saw E-town win its second consecutive league crown. Trama, a three-time all-conference selection, was All-Mideast Region for the second time after finishing fourth at this year’s NCAA Mideast Regional. Trama went on to become the program’s fifth different All-American, placing 26th at the NCAA DIII Championships.
Trama is a three-time conference Honor Roll student between the Middle Atlantic and Landmark Conferences. The West Chester East grad was named USTFCCCA All-Academic in 2013 and 2014, and should be once again in 2015. Trama has accrued a 3.77 cumulative GPA as an actuarial science major. He is also a member of the school’s Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Pi Mu Epsilon Math Honor Society.
