Martin Fevre Named Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next two weeks.
Elizabethtown College’s Martin Fevre was named the Landmark Men’s Soccer Senior Scholar Athlete. Fevre is Elizabethtown’s men's soccer's first winner of the esteemed award in just its second year as a member of the conference. The native of Chablis, France, has already been recognized as the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year, All-Landmark First Team, NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team, NSCAA All-America First Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District® 4 First Team and CoSIDA Academic All-America® First Team.
A four-year starter on defense, Fevre earned all-conference honors in every season with the Blue Jays, including three First Team honors (2012, 2014 and 2015).
Fevre suited up for 70 games, scoring 14 goals and assisting on 12 more for 40 points over the course of his career. He registered seven game-winning goals, four coming this fall, as E-town compiled a 17-2-1 record and earned the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference Championship. The Blue Jays posted the Landmark's best defensive team numbers in 2015 and Fevre emerged as one of the top scoring defenders in all of NCAA Division III. He finished this season with career-highs of nine goals, five assists and 23 points.
A mechanical engineering major, Fevre holds a 3.73 grade point average. Fevre worked closely with Dr. Tomas Estrada on the design of an autonomous pace car for athletic training as part of the donor-funded Scholarship and Creative Arts Research Program (SCARP). Fevre later presented at the SCARP conference and had his findings published by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
Fevre was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2013 and the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2014 and 2015.
