TOWSON, Md. — Catholic's Julia Wisler has been named the Landmark Women's Swimming & Diving Senior Scholar Athlete for the 2014-15 season. Wisler is the 18th Cardinal student-athlete to receive scholar athlete recognition, and she joins Rachel Berry (2012-13) as the institution's only women's swimmers to receive the honor.

The 2014 co-Landmark Swimmer of the Year, Wisler ends her Catholic career as a five-time individual conference champion, winning the 100 freestyle three times and the 50 free twice. She also a part of three first place relay teams, including Landmark record-setting performances in the 200 and 400 free relays this past February.

Wisler was a six-time Division III Swimmer of the Week. The Cardinals finished in the top three at the Landmark Championships in each of her last three seasons, with a second place finish in 2014-15. In addition to her eight Landmark titles, Wisler earned Second-Team All-Landmark accolades eight times (one individual, seven relays) over her four years at Catholic. She never placed lower than fourth in any individual race at the conference championships.

Outside of the pool, Wisler maintains a 3.38 grade-point average while majoring in nursing. She is a member of the National Student Nurses Association, and traveled abroad to Nicaragua to participate in a Spanish for Health Care initiative. Wisler earned a spot on the Landmark Winter Academic Honor Roll in each of her three eligible seasons.

The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the six winter honorees will be announced between March 31 – April 2, with two named each day.
