TOWSON, Md. — Moravian's Chris Ossont has been named the Landmark Men's Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete for the 2014-15 season. Ossont is the 17th Greyhound to earn senior scholar recognition, and he is the fourth men's track & field honoree, joining Craig Arner (2014 – outdoor), Travis King (2012-13 – indoor) and Nathaniel Tussey (2008 – outdoor).

Ossont has been a strong contender in the triple jump throughout his collegiate career, placing in the top five in each of his first three seasons, and he broke through as the Landmark champion in the event this February. Ossont earned First-Team All-Landmark accolades with a top distance of 13.86 meters, and he additionally had a fourth place showing in the long jump. He managed top 15 performances at the ECAC Championships in the triple jump as both a junior and a senior. The Greyhounds claimed indoor conference titles in all four years he competed on the team.

A Landmark Winter Academic Honor Roll member every year he was eligible, Ossont maintains a 3.46 grade-point average while majoring in English. He serves as the treasurer for IMPACT, a student programming board at Moravian that seeks to provide Innovative, Multi-cultural Programming Activities for Campus Togetherness, and he is a student assistant for the college's Residential Life staff.

The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors.
