Landmark Announces Major Track & Field Award Winners

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — The seven Landmark outdoor track & field coaches made their major award selections immediately following the conclusion of this past weekend's championship meet.

Colin Eberhardt (Susquehanna) and Corinne Glass (Moravian) were chosen as the Track Athletes of the Year, while Kahron Walker (Moravian) and Mary Clark (Catholic) were honored as the Field Athletes of the Year. Elizabethtown swept the Rookie of the Year awards, with Mitch Schlegel recognized on the men's side and Kelsey Brady selected on the women's side. Moravian coach Jesse Baumann and his staff, meanwhile, took home Coaching Staff of the Year accolades for both genders.

Eberhardt successfully defended his 2014 titles in both the 1500 meters and the 3000 meter steeplechase. His steeplechase winning time of 9:25.28, which was over 10 seconds ahead of his next closest competitor, broke a meet record which had stood since the 2008 championships.

Glass is now an eight-time Landmark outdoor champion after adding three more gold medals to her collection this weekend. She took first place in the 200 dash for a third-consecutive year, and she established a new meet and Landmark record while claiming the 400 dash in 57.61. Glass also was a part of Moravian's winning 4 x 100 meter relay squad for a third year in a row (in a new meet record time of 47.95), and she was the runner-up in the 100 dash.

Walker placed first in two of the three jumping events over the weekend. He defended his title in the high jump at a new meet record height of 2.00 meters (6' 6 3/4"), and he added a gold medal in the triple jump with a top effort of 13.53 meters (44' 4 3/4"). Walker also registered a third place showing in the long jump.

Clark, who was co-Field Athlete of the Year in 2014, will end her Cardinal career as a three-time champion in the hammer throw. Her winning toss this weekend of 47.39 meters (155'6") established the first new meet record in the event since 2009. Clark additionally added a runner-up performance in the discus (37.49 meters – 123'), and she finished in the top seven in the javelin and shot put events.

Schlegel scored in each of his two individual events, including a first place effort in the 400 dash in a new meet record time of 48.74. He ran the anchor leg for the Blue Jays' Landmark-winning team in the 4 x 400 meter relay, and recorded a fourth-place finish in the 200 dash. Brady placed third in both the 800 and 1500 meters, and she ran the initial leg for Elizabethtown during her team's gold medal-winning performance in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

Baumann and his assistants are recognized for the third time on the women's side and the second time for the men after Moravian swept both outdoor titles for the seventh time in the Landmark's eight years of existence.

First Team All-Landmark honors are awarded to student-athletes who finish first at the Landmark Championships while second place finishers earn Second Team All-Landmark recognition. The full list of honorees is available below, and more information about the winners can be found in the Saturday and Sunday championship recaps.
