Mary Schlosbon Chosen as Softball Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – Moravian College outfielder Mary Schlosbon has been honored as the Landmark Softball Senior Scholar for the 2016 season. She is the third Greyhound senior to be recognized in 2015-16, and is the third Moravian softball senior to be named a senior scholar athlete.

Schlosbon, a three-time All-Landmark selection, played and started in 41 games for the Hounds, who finished the season at 37-6 while capturing another Landmark Conference Championship and earning a pair of wins in the NCAA Division III Tournament before falling in the Ithaca, New York Regional final. This spring, Schlosbon hit .333 with 46 hits, 27 runs, three doubles, three triples and seven RBIs, and she completed her career with 153 hits, tied for 13th in school history.

Schlosbon has maintained suc cess on the field while registering a 3.51 grade-point average as a psychology major. She had made the Dean's List four times in her Greyhound career and has been honored on the Landmark's Academic Honor Roll three times. Schlosbon is also a member of the Moravian Resident Life staff.

The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the eight spring honorees will be announced between May 19-25.
