Landmark Announces Men's Lacrosse Award Winners
TOWSON, Md. — The Landmark men's lacrosse coaches have made their All-Landmark and major award selection, with Susquehanna taking all three top honors. Corrie Van Haasteren was named Player of the Year and teammate Dylan Abplanalp was named the Rookie of the Year. Head Coach Stewart Moan and his staff were honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year.
Van Haasteren, a long pole midfielder and team captain, caps off a four-year career that includes 68 games, two Landmark Conference titles to date and two NCAA Tournament appearances. He is also now a three-time All-Conference player as he was named as Long Stick Midfield First Team this year. This season, Van Haasteren has started 15 of the team's 16 games and has three goals, two assists, 66 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers. His ground balls and caused turnovers are tops on the team and place him tied for second in the conference in ground balls and second in caused turnovers.
Tim Keith (Catholic), Joe Clark (Elizabethtown), and Pat Coll (USMMA) are the three attackers to earn First Team status. Clark, a 2015 First Team selection, ranked fourth with 36 goals and totaled 23 assists, and scored on 64.7 percent on his shots for the Blue Jays. Coll meanwhile, led the league in goals (59) and in points with 71.
Three of the four midfielders are a repeat selection. Catholic's Victor Licata was named to the First Team in 2015. This season, the junior finished the regular season with 28 goals and 12 assists.
