Elizabethtown Starts Strong in Run for Presidents' Trophy

TOWSON, Md. – At the end of the fall sports season, Elizabethtown College leads the Landmark Conference in the Presidents’ Trophy standings. The Presidents’ Trophy was created in the inaugural year of the conference to recognize the best overall athletics program.

Scranton ended the fall season with 52.3 points and an average of 8.72.

Juniata College won two fall championships this season in field hockey and volleyball and earned a second place finish in men's cross country to earn 45.3 points for an average of 7.55. The Eagles sit third in the Presidents' Trophy after the fall season.

Susquehanna University earned two bonus points and eight points after finishing as the runner-up in the women's soccer championships and two additional bonus after appearing in the men's soccer and volleyball championships for an average of 7.22.

About the Landmark Presidents Trophy:

The Trophy is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition. The point structure was revised in the summer of 2015 with different point hierarchies for team and individual sports, but the maximum number of points any team can earn is 15. The total number of points each institution earns is divided by the number of Landmark sports sponsored to determine the average.
