Goldrich Named Women’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next week.
Goucher College’s Soliana Goldrich has been named the Women’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete. Goldrich is the fourth Gopher Women’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete, joining J. Fraley Coles (2007), Hadley Couraud (2012), and Kathryn Walker (2013).
Soliana boast a 3.74 cumulative grade point average and will be graduating magna cum laude and with honors in psychology this semester. She is a member of PSI Chi (International Honors Society for Psychology) since 2016. She has presented at Eastern Psychological Conference in Boston and will be presenting at the Psychonomic Society in Vancouver later this fall. She has made Goucher's Dean list each semester since the fall 2015 and was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma (National Athletic Honor Society) last spring. Soliana will start a PHD program next fall for Neuroscience with a focus on psycholinguistics.
She was a co-captain in 2016 and was the captain on the women's team in 2017. She made the Landmark Honor Roll in 2015 and 2016 in cross country and was selected for 2015-2016, 2016-2017 in indoor and outdoor track & field. She was also the recipient of the 2015 Sportsmanship Award for cross country in 2015.
Soliana has served a resident assistant for two years. Has numerous volunteer experiences on her resume and has been a leader in starting an Interfaith club on Goucher's campus.
