TOWSON, Md. – The 2016-17 season marks the 10 year anniversary for the Landmark Conference. As part of the buildup to each sport's championship season, fans were asked to select their favorite moment from the first decade from a list created by members of the conference. Each winning moment will be announced prior to the conference championship.
In the first round of voting, Devin Lessard's from Susquehanna NCAA performance was up against nine other moments from the last 10 years and was ranked first with 43 percent of the votes. Catholic's Lisa Brooks winning the same event four years in a row came in second at 32 percent and Marywood's Catherine Anlas winning the programs first ever conference championship came in third.
During the final round, it was Lessard's fifth place finish in the 200 butterfly at the NCAA Championships that came out on top. The moment finished with 317 votes, 107 votes ahead of Second place Catholic.
Swimming in her final collegiate meet for Susquehanna, senior Devin Lessard earned All-American status in the 200 fly during the 2013 NCAA Division-III Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.
Lessard becomes the first All-American in SU swimming program history after finishing the finals in fifth place, breaking her program record that she set in the prelims earlier with a time of 2:02.04 that seeded her fourth in the final.
