TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Track & Field coaches voted Saturday evening to select the Track & Field Athletes of the Year along with Rookies of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year. Susquehanna's Matt Gass and Elizabethtown's Andrew Lesko were voted Co-Track Athletes of the Year while Susquehanna's Chris Petraskie was named the Field Athlete of the Year. On the women's side, E-town's Kelsey Brady was chosen as the Track Athlete of the Year and Catholic's Andrea Galeano and Susquehanna's Sarah Rinaldi were named Co-Field Athletes of the Year.

Catholic's Joey LaPointe was named the men's Rookie of the Year while Susquehanna's Samantha Reed was chosen for the women. The Moravian coaching staff led by head coach Jesse Baumann was named the Men's Coaching Staff of the Year and Brian Falk was named the Women's Coaching Staff of the Year.

Gass nearly pulled off a double victory. After winning the 400-meter dash in a record 49.98 becoming the first Landmark athlete to beat the 50-second threshold, he narrowly missed first in the 200 with a time of 22.44 finishing just .02 seconds behind the top finisher.

Lesko dominated the 5,000-meter race, his first of two distance events, and cruised to a gold medal in 15:58.52. In the final event before the 4x400-meter relays, Lesko was back in the zone for his 3k and ran to a second gold, unchallenged, in 9:04.67.

Petraskie won two events placing first in the high jump and triple jump and also finished second in the long jump. He cleared a record height of 6' 8" (2.03 meters) in the high jump and had a 13.37-meter (43' 10.5") winning leap in the triple jump. In the Long Jump he was second with a mark of 6.59-meters (21' 01.50").

LaPointe took home the gold in the mile as he won a fast race with a time of 4:27.11. He was able to hold off Susquehanna's Ciaran Fisher by just .38 seconds. Catholic's standout rookie went on to anchor its distance medley relay team which was also victorious with a time of 10:43.40.

On the women's side, Brady started off her day by controlling the mile race. She ran a new personal best and improved her third-place standing all-time with a 5:06.20. She came back to run 2:20.23 and win the 800m. In her last race of the day, Brady led off the 4x400-meter relay that ran to victory in 4:07.85. Brady, Kesley Detweiler, Lia Chak, and Alexis Groce  were the four legs of the relay that won gold.

Galeano smashed the Landmark and Catholic record in the weight throw, which she set earlier this season to earn Co-Field Athlete of the Year. She boomed a throw of 17.98 meters which was two meters longer than her previous mark. She now ranks seventh in the country after that throw. She also finished third in the shot put with a throw of 10.68 meters.

Rinaldi scored several points for the River Hawks in field events as she placed third in both the long and triple jumps with marks of 4.72m and 10.19m respectively and was tied for second in the high jump with Moravian's Melissa Cheong at 1.52m.

Reed was the winner in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.60. The 4x200 relay with Reed, Mitchell, Carlye McQueen and Hannah Perkins crossed the line first in 1:48.75 to score first place points for the River Hawks.

Moravian's Baumann notched his sixth Men's Coaching Staff of the Year honor. He led the Greyhounds to their ninth Landmark Championship on Saturday. Brian Falk and his staff earned their first Landmark Coaching Staff of the year award. The Blue Jays won their first conference title, upsetting nine-time winners Moravian.

First Team All-Landmark honors are awarded to everyone who finishes first at the Landmark Championships while second place finishers earn Second Team All-Landmark recognition.
