Lesko Honored as Men's Indoor T&F Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. — Elizabethtown's Andrew Lesko has been named the Landmark Men's Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete for the 2016-17 season. Lesko is the seventh Blue Jay to earn senior scholar recognition, and is the first men's track & field honoree.

Lesko has been a strong contender in the distance events throughout his collegiate career, earning Landmark champion honors in both the 3,000m and 5,000m races this February. He was named Co-Track Athlete of the Year and accounted for two of the team's five gold medals at the indoor championship. He helped the Blue Jays to 112 points, which was the most the team has scored at the indoor meet since joining the Landmark.

A Landmark Winter Academic Honor Roll member, Lesko maintains a 3.93 grade-point average while majoring in Political Science. He serves as the men's track & field team's student-athlete mentor.

The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, faculty athletic representatives, senior woman administrators, and sports information directors.
