Landmark Announces Men's Lacrosse Award Winners

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference men's lacrosse coaches have voted, and selected Catholic senior Tim Keith as the 2017 Player of the Year. Drew's Seamus O'Connor was voted the conference's Rookie of the Year.
Keith helped Catholic enjoy one its best seasons in program history, while also earning the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Landmark tournament. Keith ranked fourth in the conference in scoring with 47 points on 34 goals and 13 assists. He scored at least two points in every conference game but one and finished with 21 in the six conference games. Keith earns his second First Team honors after making the team in 2016.
O'Connor ranked third on the team with 17 goals and added seven assists. He also tallied 21 groundballs, helping his bid for Rookie of the Year honors.
Attackmen Jack Crowley and Joe Clark are also First Team honorees. Crowley led Drew this season with 26 goals and 10 assists through the regular season. Clark tallied 32 goals and 21 assists for Elizabethtown. This is his third time earning First Team honors.
Three midfielders were named First Team, including Elizabethtown brothers Mike and Nick Specht. The pair combined to notch 75 points. Mike finished the regular season with 25 goals and 16 assists while Nick tallied 21 goals and 13 helpers. Mike is a three-time First Team honoree. A Second Team selection a year ago, Catholic's Bennett Bradley earns a spot on the First Team. The junior scored a team-high 41 goals and added 10 assists for 51 points.
Top defensive honors go to Catholic's Patrick Kamm, Elizabethtown's Jeremy Klipple, and Scranton's Sean Ebert. Klipple is third in the conference in caused turnovers with 19. All three players had 20 groundballs or more.
A long stick midfielder, Moravian's Jimmy Schicke also earned First Team recognition. He finished the regular season with 46 groundballs. Catholic's Luke Scaduto was named the Landmark's top short stick defensive midfielder. He picked up 34 groundballs.
Scranton's Adam Drury earned Frist Team honors as the faceoff specialist for the second consecutive season. The junior ranked first in the conference, going 161-224 at faceoff. In conference play he won 69 of his 94 attempts.
Drew senior Teddy Sweeny was awarded top goalie honors. He boasted a 7.16 goals against average with a 61.7 save percentage.
Drew head coach Tom Leanos and his staff were voted the Coaching Staff of the Year. This is Leanos' fourth honor in the 10 years of Landmark competition. Drew's all-time leader in wins, Leanos led the Rangers back to the Landmark playoffs this season after missing out in 2016. Drew enters Wednesday's semifinal as the No. 3 seed.
