Tim Keith Named Landmark Men's Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. — Catholic attacker Tim Keith has been named the Landmark Men’s Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete for the 2017 season. He is the second Cardinal to be honored during the 2016-17 season, joining men’s swimming & diving Guido Saccaggi. He is the second men’s lacrosse player to be recognized and 26th overall.

Keith earned First Team All-Landmark accolades in each of his final two seasons. The 2017 Landmark Player of the Year led the team to the best regular season in program history (14-3), and helped the Cardinals receive votes in the USILA top-20 for the first time in program history. He won two conference championships (2015, 2016) and finished his career with 134 goals, 56 assists, 190 points, 138 groundballs, and 21 caused turnovers. Keith was also named as an All-American in 2016.

A biomedical engineering systems major, Keith maintains a 3.78 grade-point average in the classroom. He earned USILA Academic All-America honors in 2016, has been named to Catholic’s Dean’s List the last three years, is a member of the National Engineering Society, and served as a team leader for his Senior Capstone Senior Design Project.

A team captain in his senior season, Keith was heavily involved in community service projects. He was a three-year participant in the Brookland Community Children’s Field Day, a three-year participant in the MLK National Service Day, and participated in the Headstrong, National Service Day, and Wellockstrong charity events.

The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, faculty athletic representatives, senior woman administrators, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the eight spring honorees will be announced over the next week.
