#Landmark10: Women's Tennis Top Moment

TOWSON, Md. --- The 2016-17 season marks the 10-year anniversary for the Landmark Conference. As part of the buildup to each sport's championship season, fans were asked to select their favorite moment from the first decade from a list created by members of the conference. Each winning moment will be announced prior to the conference championship.
After the final round of voting, Moravian winning the 2011 Landmark title earned 68 percent of the votes while Scranton winning the programs third straight title came in second. Elizabethtown repeating as Landmark champions came in third to round out the poll.
The second seeded Moravian College women’s tennis team defeated fourth seed The University of Scranton, 5-4, to win the 2011 Landmark Conference Championship at Hoffman Courts. With the win, the Greyhounds clinched the conference's automatic berth to the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championships.
The conference title was the third Landmark Conference Championship for the Greyhounds.
Moravian had a 2-1 lead after doubles action with a victories from senior Kerry McKinley and sophomore Chelsea Ott at first doubles, McKinley's 47th career win to move into second in school history, and freshman Katie Zien and Erica Venuti at third doubles. The team almost led 3-0 with senior Elizabeth Endy and sophomore Stephanie Cox dropping a 9-8 (7-5) decision at second doubles.
The Greyhounds then won three of the singles matches to win the conference title. Ott won her first singles contest in straight sets for a 3-1 lead for Moravian; however, Scranton captured the next three matches to finish, third, fifth and sixth singles, to take a 4-3 lead. Zien would post a three-set win at fourth singles to tie the contest before McKinley captured the championship with a three-set win at second singles, her 52nd career win.
