Field Hockey Players Honored With All-Landmark

TOWSON, Md. –University of Scranton junior Gracie McClatchy is the Landmark Player of the Year. McClatchy, who is the second straight Royal to earn the award, leads the Landmark in scoring with 37 points. She finished the regular season with 16 goals and five assists.

The Royals had six players earn All-Landmark honors, landing three on the First Team. Joining McClatchy were Megan Gallagher and Christina Motz, both earning their first time on the All-Conference First Team.

Catholic University landed five on the First Team, with Lane Adams earning her fourth all-conference honor. Adams is a four-time First Team selection. Joining her is Hannah Schied, Meghan Shallow, Nicole Tsiaras, and Grace Jung. Shallow is the leading scorer for the Cardinals with 13 points on six goals and one assist. Schied is second for the Cardinals in scoring after finishing the season with four goals and two assists. Jung was one of the leading freshmen for the Cardinals, starting in 16 of their 17 games.

Tsiaras is the Landmark Defensive Player of the Year. She anchors a Catholic defensive unit that posted a league-leading 0.41 goals against average against conference opponents, allowing just three goals in seven games. The junior played in all 17 games and had a team-leading 11 defensive saves. She is the fourth Cardinal to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors, and third consecutive Catholic field hockey player.

Seniors Maggie Fees and Margo Donlin, along with junior Olivia Beachley represent Elizabethtown on the First Team. Beachley patrols the midfield for the Blue Jays and contributed 16 points on seven goals and two assists. Fees ranks second on the team in scoring with six goals and five assists. Donlin leads the conference in save percentage (.794) and allowed just 21 goals through 19 games, and made 81 saves. Against Landmark teams, she gave up just four goals in seven games

Susquehanna first-year has been named the Landmark Rookie of the Year. The defender has started 15 games and scored one goal and dished out three assists. Smith is the third River Hawk to be named Rookie of the Year, joining teammate Hunter Pitman (2016) and former Susquehanna standout Ally Bradley (2009).

Smith is joined by two-time First Team selection Hunter Pitman. Pitman led the River Hawks with 31 points on 14 goals and three assists. She scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Scranton on Saturday to secure the programs first-ever Landmark Field Hockey title.

Catholic Head Coach Heidi Lewis is the Landmark Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Lewis guided Catholic to its 12th straight postseason.
