TOWSON, Md. – At the conclusion of the 2018 Landmark Swimming & Diving Championships, Catholic's Gregory McCarthy and Drew's Mal Vishwanath were named the Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Year.

Scranton's Michael Diana and Catholic's Joseph Soraghan along with Drew's Jenny Stein and Marywood's Courtney Snyder were named the Men's and Women's Co-Divers of the Year.

McCarthy earned the Male Rookie of the Year honors while Scranton's Lauren Byrne was named the women's rookie.

Catholic's head coach Paul Waas and his staff earned the Coaching Staff of the Year honor on the men's side. Waas was recognized by the Landmark for the third time in his career as he was Co-Coach of the Year in 2015 and Coach of the Year in 2017. Waas led the Cardinals to their second straight conference championship in 11 years.

Gregory McCarthy helped lead the Cardinals to their second straight league championship over the weekend. The freshman captured three individual first-place finishes and was a member of two winning relays. McCarthy shattered the 400-yard individual medley conference and championship meet record with a time of 3:57.59. Former Cardinal Guido Saccaggi held the previous meet record with a time of 4:04.56, set in 2014. The freshman also set a new meet record in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:04.79 and earned goad in the 200-yard individual medley (1:50.87). Along with his three individual first-place performances McCarthy touch in fast enough for three NCAA B-cuts.

Scranton's Michael Diana earned his second Diver of Year accolades after taking home the honors during last year's meet. He placed first in 3-meter dive with 373.40 points and was runner-up in the 1-meter with 377.85 points. Joseph Soraghan earned Co-Diver of the Year honors for the first time in his career. The senior won the 1-meter dive with a score of 381.7 and was second in the 3-meter with 340.0 total points.

After earning Rookie of the Year honors last year, Vishwanath continued her dominance at this year's meet. Having already broken the championship record in the 200-yard freestyle, which earned her a NCAA B-cut and 500-yard freestyle, Vishwanath shattered the previous mark in the 1650-yard freestyle on Sunday.  Her time of 17:12.09 was nearly 12 seconds faster than the existing standard, and gave Vishwanath her sixth career Landmark title.

In women's diving, Jenny Stein placed first in the 1-meter Dive with 394.90 points and was second in the 3-meter dive with 394.30 points. Courtney Snyder of Marywood won the programs first-ever gold medal after her performance in the 3-meter diving competition. The senior posted 402.30 points to win. She placed second in the 1-meter with 377.25 points.

Byrne earned Rookie of the Year honors after winning three gold medals and setting two conference meet records while also posting an NCAA B-Cut qualifying time in the 100 breaststroke.

Susquehanna head coach Jerry Foley and his staff were honored with Women's Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the fourth straight year and fifth overall.

First Team All-Landmark honors are awarded to everyone who finishes first at the Landmark Championships while second place finishers earn Second Team All-Landmark recognition.
