Ulrich named Men’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next week.
Juniata College’s Evan Ulrich has been named the Landmark Men’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete. Ulrich is the first Eagle to be selected as the men’s cross country recipient.
Ulrich finished his cross country career last weekend at the 2019 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional, where he placed 39th with a time of 25:54.10. He has also helped the Eagles to two Landmark Cross Country runner-up finishes and two third-place finishes.
Off the course, Ulrich has maintained a 3.97 cumulative grade point average in physics and mathematics. He has made the Landmark Academic Honor Roll three times in cross country and was named to the ECAC Presidents’ Academic Honor Roll in 2018.
Ulrich is Juniata’s 16th Landmark Senior Scholar Athlete since the conference began in 2007-08.
