TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next week.

Senior Aidan Cserhat has been recognized yet again for his performance on the field and in the classroom with his selection as the Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Cserhat's brother, Niko, captured the same award last season.

The award is Cserhat's fourth since his senior year concluded back on Nov. 2. He was also named All-Landmark Conference First Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District, and to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Cserhat registered a strong senior campaign this past season, netting 26 points on 10 goals and six assists. A two-time Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, he netted his second career hat trick when he posted three goals and one assist in a 5-1 victory over Pfeiffer in the championship game of the Rutgers-Newark Tournament. He also scored both of his team's goals in a 2-2 tie versus Goucher, and he recorded one goal and two assists in a 4-1 win over Juniata.

Two years ago, Cserhat arrived at Drew as a transfer and turned in an outstanding rookie season, pouring in 20 goals while earning a slew of postseason awards, including First-Team All-America and Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He helped lead the Rangers to the Landmark Conference title, a 21-1-1 record, and a berth in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Last season he notched 16 goals and six assists to earn All-Region recognition for the second year in a row while helping Drew win the ECAC title.

For his career, Cserhat racked up 109 points on 46 goals and 17 assists. In just three seasons, he broke the Landmark Conference career record for goals and finished second in points. In the Drew record books, he finished fourth in goals and tied for third in points.

A biology major, Cserhat has been named CoSIDA Academic All-District and to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll in each of the last two years.
