Landmark Announces Men's Lacrosse Award Winners
TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark men's lacrosse coaches voted and selected Scranton junior Michael Elefonte as the 2019 Offensive Player of the Year. Elizabethtown senior Jeremy Klipple earned Defensive Player of the Year honors while Catholic's Mike McShea took home Rookie of the Year. Moravian head coach Dave Carty and his staff earned Coach of the Year accolades.

Elefonte helped the Royals to another stellar season, earning the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Landmark championship. Elefonte ranked fifth in the conference in goals with 37 and eighth in assists with 18. The junior is making his first appearance on the All-Conference team by being a First Team selection.
Klipple is no stranger to postseason awards as the senior was named the Player of the Year in 2018. The senior helped guide the Blue Jays to the No. 1 seed in the upcoming championship and to a 5-1 record in conference play. He ranked first in the conference in caused turnovers with 29 while adding 49 groundballs. Klipple earns his third Frist Team honor after making the team in 2017 and 2018.
McShea made his name known in the conference throughout his rookie campaign. He totaled a league-leading 134 groundballs, He also ranked second in the conference in faceoffs won with 212 out of 329 chances. McShea will be making his postseason debut as the Cardinals clinched the No. 4 seed.
Carty guided the Greyhounds to an 8-7 record this spring in his fourth year leading the program. Since guiding the Hounds back to varsity status in 2016, Carty has posted a 31-28 record, the program's first postseason berth in the 2016 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Tournament, two winning seasons and the program's first 10-win season in 2016.
