Softball Major Award Winners Revealed
TOWSON, Md. – Another highly competitive season of Landmark softball has earned 24 student-athletes spots on the 2019 Landmark All-Conference teams, as voted by the conferences' seven head coaches.

Eight-time conference champion Moravian College led the way with 10 selections, including sweeping the major awards. Maddisen Bieber was recognized as Player of the Year with teammates Paige Lesher and Alexandria Scheeler being named Pitcher and Rookie of the Year respectively. Head coach John Byrne and his staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Through 36 games, Bieber is hitting an impressive league-leading .495 with 17 RBI, nine doubles, and eight walks. She played in all 12 conference games where she hit .526 with five RBI, five doubles, and one walk. Bieber is now the seventh Greyhound to be named Player of the Year.
Lesher becomes the 10th Greyhound and fourth straight Moravian pitcher to earn Pitcher of the Year honors. The junior kept the Greyhound tradition of dominate pitching, posting a 16-1 record with a 1.43 earned run average with 34 strikeouts.
Scheeler did it all for the Greyhounds offensively and defensively. At the plate, Scheeler hit .456 with 32 RBI, 12 doubles, one triple, one homerun, and drew nine walks. In conference games, she hit an impressive .469 with 17 RBI, five doubles, and one homerun. In the circle, she ended the regular season with a 12-2 record, 1.76 ERA and 38 strikeouts. In conference games, she went 4-1 with a 1.13 ERA and 15 strikeouts. She is the seventh Greyhound to be named Rookie of the Year.
Byrne now has a career slate 854-246, has posted a 31-5 overall record this spring, the fifth straight and 20th overall 30-win season, and an 11-1 mark in Landmark action. The Blue & Grey are also ranked No. 10 in the nation in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll.
