Landmark Reveals Women's Lacrosse Award Winners
TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference coaches voted Moravian's Liz Bill as the Player of the Year and Drew's Hailey Simmons as the Rookie of the Year. Catholic head coach and her staff were named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
At the end of the regular season, Bill racked up a league-leading 87 goals to go along with 12 assists for 99 total points. She added 33 groundballs, 114 draw controls, and 11 caused turnovers.
Simmons helped the Rangers to a 14-4 (4-3 LC) record, which included a 12-game win streak to start the season. The rookie appeared in 18 games with 17 starts where she scored 30 goals while adding 12 assists, 38 groundballs, 10 caused turnovers, and 12 draw controls.
McDonogh and her staff have earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the fifth time in 12 Landmark seasons. Catholic (14-3) advanced to its 12th consecutive Landmark Conference championship game, having won 10 of the previous 11 thanks to their 13-7 win over Drew in the semifinal game this past Wednesday.
