Holsopple Named Men's Basketball Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.
Juniata College senior Jake Holsopple has been selected as the 2019-20 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete for Men's Basketball.
Holsopple is the fourth Eagle to garner the Senior Scholar Athlete award, and third straight recipient. He joins Brian Scholly (2014) and former teammates Marcus Lee (2018) and Brandon Martinazzi (2019).
This season, Holsopple was fourth on the team in points with 180 and was second on the team in 3-pointers (27-87). Holsopple was also third on the team in rebounds (104) and third on the team in blocks (5).
On the court, Holsopple has played in 102 games with 20 starts over his four-year career. He has recorded 509 points and has played a total of 1,371 minutes. Holsopple totaled 17 blocks, 271 rebounds, 92 assists, and 40 assists.
In the classroom, Holsopple holds a 3.79 cumulative grade point average as a biology and pre medicine major and has appeared on the Landmark Academic honor roll three times.
