Susquehanna's Reese Named Women's Outdoor T&F Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna University’s Erin Reese has been selected as the 2020 Landmark Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete.
The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, faculty athletic representatives, senior woman administrators, and sports information directors.
Reese qualified for all seven possible Landmark Conference Track & Field Championships throughout her four-year career as a River Hawk. She picked up three All-Landmark honors in track & field to go along with her three All-Landmark awards in cross country.
She was the 2018 Landmark Outdoor Champion in the 10,000m, and finished the 2019-20 indoor campaign ranked fifth in the league in the 3,000m with a time of 10:49.98 clocked at the Nazareth College Conference Challenge Cup Invitational on January 25, and sixth in the 5,000m with a time of 18:48.01 ran at the River Hawk Opener on December 7.
Off the track, Reese is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the Student Awareness of the Value of the Environment (SAVE). She is also a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Nu Rho Psi: the national honor society in neuroscience, Omicron Delta Kappa: a national leadership honor society, and Pi Gamma Mu: an honor society in the social sciences.
She made the Susquehanna’s Dean’s List every semester and is a three-time Landmark Spring Academic Honor Roll honoree.
Reese will graduate with a 3.99 grade point average in neuroscience with a minor in biochemistry. She was also named the 2019 Landmark Women’s Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete.
She is Susquehanna’s 35th Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete since the conference began in 2007-08, and she is the fourth women’s outdoor track and field student-athlete to be honored from Susquehanna’s outdoor track and field program.
