Herestofa Voted Landmark Volleyball Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.

Herestofa currently boasts a 3.85 grade point average as a philosophy major, and has been a member of the Dean's List every semester at Susquehanna while earning two Fall Academic Honor Roll awards (2018, 2019). A member of Alpha Lambda Delta as well, she is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, a national history honor society. A 2021 and 2019 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selection, she also earned All-Region accolades twice at SU, while helping the team to the NCAA Regional Finals with NCAA Tournament wins over Maine Maritime and Bowdoin College. Additionally, she was recently named to the College of Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Academic All-Distrcit team.

The senior finished her campaign with 621 digs to lead the Landmark conference, while becoming just the third player in program history to surpass 2,000 digs for her career. She finished with 2037 digs over her 487 sets played at SU, getting into 139 matches for orange and maroon. She helped the River Hawks to a 101-39 record over her four seasons, and tallied the eighth-most service aces at SU with 186.

She is the second River Hawk to earn Volleyball Scholar-Athlete honors, joining former teammate Sydney Portale, who was named in 2020-21.
