Egan Selected as Men's Soccer Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.
Catholic University's Paul Egan was named the Landmark Men's Soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete. Egan is the second straight and third Catholic men's soccer athlete to garner the award, joining Matthew Holtschneider (2017-18), and former teammate Nelson Zimmerman (2020-21).
A three-time Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll selection, Egan is studying Marketing at Catholic and boasts a 3.82 grade point average.
On the field, Egan played in 54 of the team's 61 games while making 49 starts from 2018-21. He totaled 32 points with 11 goals and 10 assists as a midfielder. A two-time Landmark Conference First Team selection, Egan ranked third in the conference in 2021 with five assists and ninth with 13 points.
Catholic has posted a 40-15-4 overall record during his career, including a mark of 17-2-2 in the Landmark Conference. The Cardinals appeared in the conference championship game all three years, winning twice in 2019 and 2021.
