Arbogast Named Women's Indoor T&F Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.

Sara Arbogast of Susquehanna University is the third River Hawk to be named the Women's Indoor Senior Scholar Athlete. She follows in the footsteps of Ashley Mooreman (2008) and Cameron Weaver (2015).  

As a freshman, she was named to the All-Landmark Second Team in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, and triple jump. She rounded out her rookie indoor season being named the conference Rookie of the Meet. During her sophomore campaign, Arbogast earned First Team honors in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, long jump, triple jump, and helped the 4x400 meter relay team to a runner-up finish.

Last season, Arbogast was the Landmark Indoor Champion in the long jump and triple jump. The 2020 Indoor Field Athlete of the Year earned United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Mideast Region honors in the triple jump and long jump. Additionally, she was also named as an USTFCCCA All-American in the triple jump.

Arbogast is the Susquehanna record holder in the long jump, triple jump, 60-meter dash.

She was selected as a SU Presidential Fellow. Each year, around 20 sophomores are selected as Presidential Fellows, participating in several major activities with Susquehanna President Jonathan D. Green and his wife, Ms. Lynn Buck, and selected faculty and staff. She also serves as a mentor for Global Business Perspectives - a course taken by first-year students in the Sigmund Weis School of Business, requiring students to do in-depth market research on a real company and culminating with a team presentation to invited business executives. Additionally, she is also a member of Sigma Kappa sorority.

She made the Susquehanna's Dean's List every semester and is a three-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll honoree.

Arbogast boasts a 3.78 cumulative grade point average in international business.
