SCRANTON - Two University of Scranton men's tennis players were victorious at both doubles and singles on the afternoon, as the second-seeded Royals coasted past seventh-seed Juniata, 5-1, on Saturday in the Landmark Conference Quarterfinals at Royal Courts.

With the victory, Scranton (7-2 overall) now moves onto the Landmark Semifinals, which will be contested on Tuesday in Scranton as the Royals take on third-seeded Goucher (who won their quarterfinal match over Moravian on Saturday, 5-2).

The Royals kicked off play on Saturday with a pair of victories in doubles action to take a 2-1 lead into singles.

First, in the top spot of the line-up, seniors Tarquin McGurrin and James Harrington rolled to an 8-2 victory, while at number two, the sophomore duo of Patrick O'Mara and Nathan Tauber coasted to an 8-1 win.

Up a point entering singles, Harrington (at number two) and O'Mara (at number four) absolutely dominated their opposition in singles, taking a pair of 6-0, 6-0 victories. Needing just one more win to clinch the match, freshman Jason Budrys did just that in the number six spot, taking a 6-0, 6-1 victory to win it for Scranton.

The Royals will now host Goucher on Tuesday in the semifinal round, as Scranton will look to duplicate their success in the regular season over the Gophers.

On Apr. 18, Scranton captured a 6-3 win at Goucher, the program's first over the Gophers since the 2017 season. More information on the match will be posted at athletics.scranton.edu as it becomes available.
