Drew Blanks Susquehanna, Advances to Landmark Final

MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University men's tennis team rolled into the Landmark Conference Championship match with a 5-0 victory over Susquehanna University in the semifinals on Tuesday in the Simon Forum.

The top-seeded and unbeaten Rangers (9-0) will compete in the Landmark final for the first time since 2013 and will face second-seeded Scranton on Saturday at Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, N.J. Scranton defeated No. 3 Goucher 5-4 in the other semifinal on Tuesday.

Drew pushed its winning to 24 matches, dating back to the 2019 season.

The fourth-seeded River Hawks saw their season come to a close at 7-4.

The Rangers cruised to a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches. Sophomore John Dickey and senior Bryce Kennedy won 8-1 at No. 1 while senior Geoffrey Diehl and junior Bret Schuler prevailed 8-3 at No. 2, staying perfect at 9-0 on the season. Junior Dan Blumenthal and freshman b earned an 8-4 triumph at No. 3.

In singles play, Diehl blitzed to a 6-2, 6-1 victory, making it a 4-0 match, before freshman Santo Carroccia clinched it with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 verdict.

The Rangers will be facing Scranton for the third time this season after topping the Royals 6-3 in each of the previous two meetings.
