TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers,
athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.
Emily Wertz of Susquehanna University was selected as the 2022 Landmark Women's Soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete. She is the second River Hawk to earn the honor, joining former teammate Madi Welliver, who was selected in 2020.
Wertz is a two-time All-Landmark selection as a forward. She earned First Team honors in 2021 and this past fall. She played in 54 games in her career with 47 starts. Wertz ends her time at SU with 16 goals and 17 assists for 49 points.
Academically, Wertz carries a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average as a Biomedical Sciences major. She has made the Susquehanna Dean's List the last six semesters and will be a three-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll selection. She is also part of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Wertz is Susquehanna's women's soccer Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative and served as the team captain.
