Frederick Named Women’s Basketball Senior Scholar Athlete
TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.
Erin Frederick is the first Drew University women's basketball athlete to win the award and second recipient this winter. Sydney Everhart was named the women's swimming & diving honoree on Tuesday.
Frederick has made her mark as an outstanding performer for the Rangers throughout her career. She is a three-time All-Landmark Conference selection, which is just the second player to do so in team history.
This past year, Frederick closed out her collegiate career by earning First Team All-Landmark honors after averaging 15.7 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, shot 48.6 percent from the floor, and added 24 blocked shots.
For her career, the three-year team captain never missed a game at Drew, making 111 straight starts over her five years with the team. She joined the 1,000-point club and finished as one of only two players in team history with 1000 points, 500 rebounds, and 100 blocked shots. She ranks sixth in team history in scoring (1,363 points), ninth in rebounds (571), and third in blocked shots (121)
In the classroom, Frederick completed her undergraduate degree in computer science and business studies with a 3.60 grade point average. She is currently studying for her master's in data analytics and boasts a 4.00 GPA.
She interned for IBM and for Datawerx while also participating in Drew's Semester on Wall Street. The three-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll selection landed a full-time job with IBM as a Client Engineering Data Scientist.
