McShea Named Men's Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.

Catholic University senior Mike McShea is the fifth Cardinal to be selected as the Landmark’s Men’s Lacrosse Senior-Scholar Athlete. He joins Walter Hickey (2014), Tim Keith (2017), Bennett Bradley (2018), and Luke Scaduto (2019).

McShea started his career off as part of the Cardinal men’s lacrosse program by being named the conference Rookie of the Year and earning Second Team honors. That year, he finished second in the Landmark with 227 face-off wins and 145 groundballs.

The school record holder with 447 groundballs and ranking second in face-off wins (682), McShea graduated Catholic with a 3.80 grade point average as a Business Administration major. He was a two-time Landmark Spring Academic Honor Roll selection and made the Dean’s List.
