TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conferenced announced its 2022-23 Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams.
Teams were nominated and voted on by the league's eight head coaches.
Player of the Year: Avindra Perera (Drew University)
Rookie of the Year: Shayaan Farhad (Moravian University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Drew University (Scott Veith)
Perera becomes Drew's fifth Landmark Conference Player of the Year selection and its first since Salikh Gilmutdinov in 2017. He also gained First-Team All-Landmark honors in both singles and doubles for the second year in a row after finishing a combined 10-0 while competing at the top of the lineup. He finished 7-3 in singles, going 4-3 at the No. 1 and 3-0 at No. 2, and was 5-0 in Landmark Conference play. In doubles action, Perera finished 15-5, including 13-1 at No. 1, and also was perfect (5-0) in conference action with Wong-Li Hom.
Farhad is the second Greyhound to receive Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year accolades, joining doubles partner Anthony Ronca, who earned the honor last year. He is the sole freshman on First Team singles after winning 10 matches this season.
Veith guided the Rangers (16-4, 7-0 LC) to their third consecutive undefeated season in the Landmark Conference, extending Drew's regular-season winning streak versus Landmark Conference opponents to 22. The Rangers also earned the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference Championship and reached the final for the third year in a row, where they defeated Goucher 5-2 to earn the sixth NCAA tournament berth in program history. The team has posted a 16-4 record and is 13-1 since returning from its spring break trip to Hilton Head.
The honor is his third straight honor for Veith and his staff.
