St. Jean Named Landmark Women's Soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. -The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers,
athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

Belle St. Jean of Goucher College was selected as the 2023 Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete. St. Jean is the first selection in the last four years, and the 20th Gopher to win the award.

Belle's leadership as a two-year captain and dominance on the pitch will be one to remember. Starting in all 17 games for Goucher and anchoring a defense that posted a 1.00 goals-against average and five shutouts, St. Jean earned a third All-Landmark selection in 2023, the second player in the program's history to do so.

Academically, St. Jean is a psychology major with a 4.00 grade point average and is a Goucher College Dean's List honoree, as well as two-time College Sports Communicators All-District selection (2022 and 2023) and a United Soccer Coaches Scholar (2022, 2023).

Belle volunteers as a research and office assistant with the Goucher Prison Education Program, which provides academic tutoring and support for students completing their degree while incarcerated.
