Baxter Named Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. -The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

Brandon Baxter of Elizabethtown College was selected as the 2023 Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athlete. He is the third Blue Jay in the last five years to earn the honor from the men's cross country program, and the fifth since 2014 when Etown joined the conference.

Baxter, a biology major with a pre-medicine concentration, carries a 3.97 grade point average. He was named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as well as the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll all three years he was eligible.

He has additionally been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) Academic Team (2020, 2021, 2022), and to the Academic Athlete squad (2021, 2022).

On the course, he is a two-time All-Landmark performer. In 2023, he earned Second Team honors after placing ninth, and was named to the First Team in 2022 after a fourth-place showing. In 2022, Baxter was named to the NCAA Division III and USTFCCCA All-Region team after placing 29th at the regional meet.
