TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference announced its 2024 Baseball All-Conference Teams and award winners, as nominated and voted on by the league's nine head coaches.
Player of the Year: Quinten Perilli (Elizabethtown College)
Pitcher of the Year: Roman Tozzi (Catholic University)
Rookie of the Year: Logan Eilbacher (Catholic University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Drew University
Perilli emerged as one of the top players in the 2024 Landmark Conference baseball season, as he was named this year's Player of the Year. After earning Rookie of the Year honors a season ago, the sophomore from Elizabethtown College stepped his game up once again, leading the conference in runs scored (56) and slugging percentage (.708) while starting in 41 of the Blue Jays' 43 games,
He also finished top-10 in the conference in batting average (.351) and hits (54). Perilli's helped the Blue Jays reach the Landmark Conference Championship as the top seed.
Tozzi etched his name into Landmark Conference baseball history, becoming the third straight Pitcher of the Year selection for Catholic University. He is the third Cardinals in the last five years to earning the honor, joining Tucker Alch (2022, 2023), and Jon Mierzwa (2019).
Tozzi was efficient in his nine starts on the mound, tallying an impressive 8-1 record, tying for the most wins in the conference. He led the conference in strikeouts (74) and posted a 2.18 earned run average with 32 hits across 62 innings played, the second-lowest in the conference.
Eilbacher's debut season at Catholic University earned him Rookie of the Year honors, making him the second player from Catholic in the last four years to claim this honor after Dante Pozzi won in 2022. He finished the season with a .345 batting average, which ranked 11th in the conference. His consistency at bat was what turned heads, where his .697 slugging percentage was the second-highest in the conference.
Head Coach Brian Eberly and Drew University won Coaching Staff of the Year honors after finishing 22-18 on the season and 13-11 in the conference. The Rangers took care of business at home, finishing with 13 wins and an 11-1 record in the conference.
