Bryan Kerchner Named 2025 Men's Cross County Senior Scholar

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

Moravian University’s Bryan Kerchner has been recognized as the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athlete. He is the fourth Greyhound to be selected, joining Aaron Hofmann (2018), Shane Houghton (2022), and Josh Mangini (2024).

Kerchner established himself as one of the Greyhounds’ most accomplished and consistent student-athletes, excelling on the cross country course while maintaining a strong academic record as a Health Sciences/Pre-Physical Therapy major with a 3.45 grade point average.

A key contributor to the program’s success, Kerchner helped lead Moravian to four consecutive Landmark Conference Championships (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025). He competed on the national stage in 2024, finishing 99th at the NCAA Division III National Championships. Kerchner was a part of the 2024 NCAA Division III Metro Regional winning team, where he finished sixth, contributing to one of the most successful seasons in program history.

Kerchner is a three-time Landmark All-Conference honoree in cross country, earning First Team accolades twice, placing fourth in 2024 and third in 2025, after securing Second Team honors in 2023 with an eighth-place finish. He has also been recognized as one of the top regional competitors for three straight years, collecting NCAA Division III Metro All-Region honors in 2023 (15th), 2024 (6th), and 2025 (10th) through the USTFCCCA.

Kerchner has matched his athletic success with strong academic achievement. He is a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree in cross country (2023, 2024) and has been named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll multiple times, and has also earned Moravian Dean’s Honors List recognition twice. Kerchner is also a member of Moravian’s Morgan Message, a program made to encourage open dialogue on mental health within the student athlete community.
